"When travellers can cancel with a single tap, they book with twice the confidence & earn their trust for good.”

Hi, I’m Deepesh Saxena, AVP -Travel @Symbo.

After two decades in travel at TripAdvisor, Yatra, & TBO, I now work with Symbo Insurtech & have partnered with India’s top OTAs & Visa processors to embed smarter, simpler & customized insurance products right into the booking flow, from cancellation, flexibility to visa & delay protection.

Last quarter, a travel report by an OTA read:

“1 in 10 leisure bookings now include Cancel-For-Any-Reason (CFAR) cover”

What was once a premium add-on has become a checkbox users expect. The implications go far beyond refund logic, they touch user psychology, trust, & unit economics.

We’ve curated a whitepaper that unpacks how the CFAR programs, running across 7.7 million tickets powered by Symbo, reshaped customer perception & business.

Outcomes:

  • Adding CFAR as a toggle at booking cart more than doubled attach rates
  • Dynamic pricing lowered loss ratios by 17 points in high-risk corridors
  • NPS scores climbed by 11 points among travellers offered the flexibility, even if they didn’t claim
